This page lists some common questions we receive from people interested in building a new home.

  1. How long does it take to build a home?

    1. It varies on size and location, however it usually takes about 4 to 6 months once we have a building permit.

  2. I want to finance my new home; do you have any ideas how to do this?

    1. Some of our customers are using equity that they have in their present homes to build, and then finance after completion.

    2. Most of the financial institutions here in our area will finance your home. We can give you suggestions and a list of lenders with our references.

  3. Do I need my own plans?

    1. No, we can design your home from our plans and incorporate your ideas. We have the ability to design a home and give you a virtual tour of the inside and outside to help you visualize your dream.

  4. Can I do some of the work myself to reduce cost?

    1. Yes, we will allow you to do just about anything you want. We just ask that you do not hold us up during our scheduling and that any work done meets all applicable building codes.

  5. I want to build a vacation home but I do not have any property. What do you suggest?

    1. We are not in the real estate business however we do have some property for sale. Most of our customers have property already or come up to our area, purchase property, then contract us to build their dream.

  6. What's your area of operations?

    1. We try to stay within 100 miles of the Wisconsin Dells but have gone further depending on the situation and the accommodations.

  7. I've never had a well or septic system. Do I need to do anything special?

    1. Typically no, however we will show you what you need to know and explain how things work. Our goal is to make things easy for you.

  8. What are the pros and cons of building a log home to a standard conventional home.

    1. There are a few of both that stand out:

      1. Pros:

        1. They are beautiful and unique in their own way, usually customized to the family or individual.

        2. They have a much higher resale value and seem to increase in value faster then conventionally build homes

      2. Cons:

        1. They typically are more costly then conventionally built homes.

        2. They require maintenance, some require more then others depending on the exposure to the sun.
